Make a Latte with No Equipment... and Three Fun Fall Seasonal Ways to Try It

Lattes are such a delicious treat and a warm, steamy cup is like the perfect hug on a chillier day. I was always convinced that the only way to make a latte was if you had one of those big shiny, hissing machines that the barista expertly presses buttons and arranges equipment within behind the counter.
My usual “there’s a budget way to do everything” attitude finally woke me up from this delusion and I flirted with the idea of purchasing a frother thing or an expresso machine or another home version that people like to use.
That‘s when I thought, a latte is just strong coffee with warm milk that is bubbly and thick... and realized I could easily make a latte with what I already had on hand.
If you already own an espresso maker, you would of course use that. But instead, a pot of strong coffee will do just fine. [Note: I’m not sensitive to caffeine, I drink it for the flavor. I do know the type of coffee makes a difference to people, so use what you love!] As usual, these recipe ideas can be customized to perfection! More or less coffee, sweeter or less sweet, up to you!
All You Need
-A way to brew coffee (coffee maker/espresso machine)
-Mason jar or another container with a lid that can hold hot liquids
-A mug to drink your creation out of
-A spoon to help pour the milk and scoop the foam
*Some people recommend using a blender, the mason jar is quick and no mess, but this is also an option
Ingredients
-coffee/espresso
-milk
-flavoring/spices that you want to use to make your latte (3 ideas below!)
What To Do
Brew Coffee
Pour Milk of Choice into Jar
Flavor the Milk (I've also done this after heating)
Heat ~60 seconds
Shake ~60 seconds (hard!)
The milk should become thicker and foamy at the top- a clear separation will be visible
Add milk to coffee, blocking the foam from pouring in, you only want the milk below
Spoon foam from mason jar onto top of latte
Sprinkle some cinnamon or your favorite spice on top and enjoy!

Simple Homemade Fall Latte Three Ways
*For a 3/4 cup of milk, I would use about 1/4 tsp of spices and 1 tbsp of maple syrup/sweetener- but play around with what is perfect for you!
Maple Spice Latte
Use Trader Joes Maple Oat Milk as your milk
Flavor with Cinnamon and Ground Ginger
Sprinkle Cinnamon on top!
Anti-Inflammatory Golden Latte
Choice of Vanilla Unsweetened (sweet is fine too) Milk Alternative or Regular Milk
Flavor with Turmeric Powder, Ground Ginger, and Maple Syrup
Sprinkle Cinnamon on top!
Vanilla Spice Latte
Choice of Vanilla Unsweetened (sweet is fine too) Milk Alternative
Flavor with Vanilla Extract, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg
Sprinkle Cinnamon on top!
